History
For over a century, it has been a family affair at Plankenhorn’s.
Starting in Williamsport, PA on a second floor on Market Square, September
8, 1899, Charles J. Plankenhorn, an enterprising gentleman, began his
business making rubber stamps for the Grit Newspaper.
In 1909, as the business grew, Charles J. moved to the present location
at 144 West Fourth Street. He expanded his services to include printing
and office supplies.
In 1933, Charles F. Plankenhorn joined his father and staff. His sons,
Charles M. and Frederic M. Plankenhorn, followed suit in 1962. Adding
the first of the fourth generation in 1989, Charles C. Plankenhorn became
part of the business, followed by Christopher M. Plankenhorn in 1991.
While maintaining a commitment to our core businesses of office supplies,
printing and the manufacturing of rubber stamps, we have expanded our
offerings to include art supplies and office accessories.
